Podcasts baby!! If you haven’t jumped on this train yet you are MISSING OUT. Listening to a podcast specifically designed for mothers and female entrepreneurs in mind has given me a new perspective on myself as a woman and mom, and has pushed me to be my best when it comes to earning an income from home.
Why Podcasts Are So Amazing
If you’re already a podcast listener then you know all about how amazing they are! But if you’re new to the idea here’s why you need to try them out.
- You can listen to them on the go so even if you’re a super busy mama like me you can tune in while driving, during your morning run or while you’re eating lunch. No need to set aside a specific time or space to indulge!
- It’s faster then reading. Let’s be super real here for a minute. I LOVE reading (and holding/smelling) actual books BUT as a mom and an entrepreneur my time is already stretched thin. Now I’m a firm believer in taking time to do things you love but I’m also super into efficiency and podcasts just fit that bill better than books.
- You will learn a LOT. You will listen to entrepreneur newbies and professionals alike share their stories, wins, losses, mistakes, smart moves, strategies and everything in between. This is not only interesting to listen to and #relatable but also extremely important for you and your business. I have made huge strides in my business and even my personal life because of lessons I’ve learned on podcasts.
- Your vision will become clearer. Beyond just learning strategies, listening to podcasts can also open a lot of unrealized dreams and opportunities for you. I’ve had so many epiphanies to help me hone in on my business and what I need to do next because I decided to just listen to a podcast episode one day.
11 Podcasts for Mom Entrepreneurs
1. Boss Mom Podcast
The Boss Mom Podcast is hosted by Dana Malstaff. This is my absolute favorite podcast of all time. The interview topics are so interesting and they dive deep into different kinds of businesses, interviewing entrepreneurs in every industry and in every stage of their journeys. If I don’t have time to listen to very many episodes in a day, I make sure I don’t miss updates from the Boss Mom podcast. I’m also part of the Facebook group and I can’t recommend that or this podcast enough. If you’re looking for a place where motherhood and entrepreneurship meet with endless opportunities to grow as a business owner and mom, the Boss Mom podcast is it.
2. All Up In Your Lady Business
I really hope I’m not the only person who started listening to this podcast because I was so impressed with the title! The All Up In Your Business podcast, hosted by Jessica Stansberry and Jaclyn Mellone, is simply all about business themes filled with interviews from guest experts, roundups, chit-chats between the two hosts and more.
3. Pursuit With Purpose
The Pursuit With Purpose podcast is close to my entrepreneurial heart because the host, Melyssa Griffin, is the first blogging guru I’ve ever truly followed. She was the first one who gave me the confidence to say “Hey, I really can do this!” and her podcast episodes and blog posts are SO beautifully actionable, with no fluff involved. In 2016, Melyssa had her first million-dollar year in her business but she wasn’t very happy. At the time, she was so focused on numbers and status, rather than what would actually bring her real happiness and create an impact in the world. That all changed. This podcast is about her journey to meaning and fulfillment and how you can bring it to your own life – today and every day. This podcast is extremely refreshing.
5. Simple Pin Podcast
My girl Kate Ahl is THE Pinterest guru and owner/founder of Simple Pin Media, a Pinterest management company that specializes in managing Pinterest pages for businesses and bloggers. She is crazy passionate about teaching simple, actionable Pinterest marketing strategies to help business owners and bloggers boost their business using Pinterest without wasting their time. She’s on a mission to rid the world of Pinterest myths, crazy hacks to ‘game’ the system and rabbit trails that waste valuable business-building time. She wants to give her audience solid Pinterest Marketing advice using data-driven results. If you are in ANY field or niche and you’re currently or ever want to utilize Pinterest, you need Kate guiding you along the way.
6. SweetLife Entrepreneur
Mom of three April Beach is the host of the SweetLife Entrepreneur podcast. It’s your go-to podcast for female entrepreneurs designing your business around a life you love: travel, family and fulfilling your purpose. While anyone can learn something from April, this podcast is definitely centered around online coaches, consultants and service providers who want simplified steps, training, and strategies. She’ll give you her proven tips from over a decade of coaching female entrepreneurs, pioneering online courses and launching businesses that make an impact. Unfiltered honesty from the trenches of parent entrepreneurship to inspire you to get where you’re called to go. Simplify it all with this podcast!
7. The Goal Digger Podcast
Jenna Kutcher is the mastermind behind The Goal Digger podcast and she is simply amazing. I found Jenna on Instagram and when I found out she had a podcast I immediately jumped on my phone to find it and listen. Honestly, she’s one of my #BossLady role models. In the Goal Digger Podcast, Jenna brings you the productivity tips, social media strategies, business hacks, and inspirational stories that can help YOU design your dream career. She shares tangible tips and hacks that she used to become a self-made millionaire in photography, online courses, Instagram sponsorships, and navigating the world of being a #girlboss social media influencer. She believes in crafting your own reality and I’m soooo into that! Are you?
8. The Shameless Mom Academy
You are in for a serious treat with this podcast! Sara Dean launched the Shameless Mom Academy to help moms lead more positive, powerful and purposeful lives #EveryDamnDay. She did this because after becoming a mom herself in 2012 she found out that – holy cow – this is hard work, and if you’re not paying attention you can completely lose your own sense of identity while raising babies. Sara digs deep into topics like creating the confidence you crave, turn your struggles into strengths, building better boundaries, and tuning into tiny habits that can change your life. See (or rather listen) for yourself to learn why thousands of moms are tuning into this podcast.
9. Strategy Hour
Get actionable strategies and killer marketing tips to grow your creative business inside The Strategy Hour podcast with hosts Abagail Pumphrey and Emylee Williams. And last, but most definitely not least, we have the Wit & Wisdom podcast with Erin & Kirsten. Together they have over 15 years of experience in the online business world. They bring their incredible wit and industry wisdom in every episode and they might make you laugh in the process. You’ll feel like you’re hanging out with 2 of your best friends and you’ll always learn something new.
